The cynic's lament.
I think we’re all pretentious. We’re all closet-elitists, some of us choosing to leave the doors open.

No tumblr shame.
Should there be any shame in following someone on tumblr because you find his/her posts interesting? I say no. Is it awkward when some of your friends know/follow that person already? Maybe.

…and that’s what Utilitarianism can do to you: make you emotionless. An appeal to logic as a response to human suffering is not an appropriate one, regardless of your perceived reasons for that suffering.
By the way, this essay got him canned as a sporadic contributer to ESPN.

I don’t think anyone’s suggesting that reforming the healthcare system’s goal is to make for a healthier America. If that’s a consequence, great, but I think the real heart of the issue is that 45,000 Americans die each year simply because they did not have health insurance. That’s the status quo. ...
